Tofu chocolate mousse is an absolute classic in the world of whole food plant-based living, and OG vegans have been making it for decades. My inspiration for sharing this recipe came from a cooking session with the wonderful LOVE Food CiC.

We all need a touch of food luxury sometimes, and not only is this rich and silky mousse high in protein and full of antioxidants… it also takes just 5 minutes to make (with a bit of chill time afterwards). Whether it’s part of a dinner party menu for friends or family, cooking to impress someone special, or a cosy and indulgent night to yourself, you’ll be making this one over and over again.

Our tofu chocolate mousse is the ultimate proof that you can enjoy a decadent chocolate dessert without the ‘wish I hadn’t’ feeling afterwards.

Ingredients

  • 170g silken tofu, drained
  • 115g dark chocolate (85% best but anything over 70% works), melted
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 30g raspberries or any other topping of choice

Method

  1. Blend tofu, melted chocolate and maple syrup until smooth
  2. Chill for around 30 minutes
  3. Top with raspberries or any topping of preference… and enjoy

Big thank you to LOVE Food CiC for sharing this idea through their platforms. You can download their recipe booklet here for some more plant-based staples.
